With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Michael Allen Trowbridge, who departed this life on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Memphis, Tennessee on July 7, 1949, to the late Parvin & Jean Eastabrook Trowbridge. Michael made Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, his home, where he lived a life rich in faith, service, and love.

Michael was a proud Navy veteran who dedicated his life to serving others. His commitment to his faith and community was unwavering as he became a vital member and youth coordinator at Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Starting with a vision and a van, he founded the youth group that grew phenomenally from zero to 63 enthusiastic participants, instilling values and courage in countless young lives. His legacy within the church extended further as a member of the Jeffersonville Baptist Church Men's Quartet. He also served in homeless and prison ministry in Lexington.

An adventurous spirit, Michael spent ten years living in Saudi Arabia, where he heroically hid Christians in his home and smuggled Bibles in a vacuum cleaner. He often spoke fondly of collecting seashells from the Red Sea, treasures that he cherished deeply. Michael's love for the ocean led him to become a master scuba diving instructor, sharing his passion for the deep sea and teaching swimming lessons at the Downtown Athletic Club.

Known for his dry sense of humor and daring nature, Michael brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He was a man of great character, whose life was a testament to resilience, love, and service.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of five years, Phyllis Castle Trowbridge; children, Duncan Trowbridge of Rancho Caedova California, Adam Trowbridge (Sandy) of Los Angeles California and Lynda Long (Gary) of Mt. Sterling Ky; grandchildren, Conner Trowbridge, Kash Trowbridge, both of California, Brittney Gillum (Daniel), Caden Freeman, and Jacob Long, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; great grandchildren, Kennedy Gillum and Bristol Gillum, both of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
