Michael "Tike" A. Franklin

Michael “Tike” Franklin, 55, of West Liberty, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.  She was born on Sunday, December 11, 1966, in Lexington. She is the daughter of the late Lanny Clay and Scottyee Burton Franklin.

Tike was a native of West Liberty.  She was previously employed as mental health care coordinator at Kentucky River Community Care in Jackson, Kentucky.  She was nominated Little Sis by the Lamda Chi Alpha fraternity at Morehead State University. She was also a graduate of Morehead State University.  Tike was a photographer and loved to take pictures.  She enjoyed thunderstorms, swimming, poetry and dolphins.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Tike was preceded in death by a grandchild, Ivy Lynn Franklin-Carpenter and a sister, Lana Scot Franklin Harmon.

Tike is survived by a son, Will Franklin-Carpenter of West Liberty, and a daughter, Dari Franklin-Carpenter of Lexington; three grandchildren; one brother, George Franklin of Mt. Sterling and a niece, Katherine Harmon of Morehead. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private family interment will be held at a later date.
