Nicholas "Nick" Jesus Aguirre

Nicholas "Nick" Jesus Aguirre, 80, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday, March 9, 2018. He was born September 13, 1937  in Chicago Illinois to the late Inocente and Jesse Lira Aguirre.

Nick moved to Montgomery County from Kansas in 1981, was a graduate of St. Benedicts College and obtained his masters degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a U.S, Army Veteran.  Nick enjoyed; golf, traveling, KU Jayhawks Basketball and most of all spending time with his family.  He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include; two daughters, Alicia Aguirre-Stone (Tony) of Glaslgow, Nichola Hayes (Steven) of Mt. Sterling, one sister Jane Aguirre of Osage City, Kansas, one brother-in-law Jose Martinez, four grandchildren, Lauren Hayes of Mt. Sterling, Evan Lopez of Topeka, Kansas, Dalton Hayes of Mt. Sterling and Olivia Lopez of Glasgow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Katie Linn Aguirre, two brothers Simone Aguirre, Rosa Aguirre and one sister Fannie Martinez.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Alzheimer's Association or St. Claire Hospice.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, March 12, 2018 at 12:00PM, Rosary at 10:00AM with visitation following until time of service.

Pallbearers: Steven Hayes, Tony Stone, Joe Lira and Stan Stull Jr.  Honorary Pallbearers: Dalton Hayes and Evan Lopez.
