Owen Brooks Vice, Sr., 85, of Owingsville, died Saturday morning, October 7, 2017 at St. Claire Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1932 in Bath County to the late Clifton Sr. and Minnie Sargent Vice.
Owen was a Bath County native, life-long farmer and retired from Moorman's Feed Company, Sharpsburg High School alumni, member of the Somerset Christian Church and a Korean War Army veteran. He enjoyed playing basketball in high school, church league basketball & softball, the outdoors, riding his UTV and most of all, spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; his beloved wife, Wilma "Sally" Reynolds Vice of Owingsville; one son, Owen Vice, Jr. of Owingsville; three grandchildren, Jennifer Vice of Phoenix, Arizona, Brittany Vice-Arizpe (Chewie) of Owingsville and Tiffany Vice (Justin Purdy) of Mt. Sterling; one great grandchild, Cutter "Fred" Purdy of Mt. Sterling; three brothers, Cliff Vice, Jr. of Carlisle, Chuck Vice (Charlene) of Mt. Sterling and Jimmy Vice of Lancaster; two sisters, Mary Wolfe of Cincinnati and Helen Shigley (Bob) of Wilmington, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Vice, Virgil Vice and Bobby Vice and one sister, Thelma Hawkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to the Somerset Christian Church, 3172 Maysville Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353 and/or Montgomery County American Legion Post 22, 1091 Winchester Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.
Funeral will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 12:00PM, Visitation will be prior from 10:00AM to 12:00PM, services will be the Somerset Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery. Pastor Carl Wagoner will be officiating.
