Raymond Claude Blake, Jr., born on November 13, 1925, in Pomeroy, Ohio, to the late Raymond, Sr. and Nela Sanders Blake. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at his residence. He was a beloved husband and father, esteemed quality control manager, and a decorated World War II veteran who dedicated his life to his family, his work, and his community.

Raymond, affectionately known as Ray, retired from Hobart Manufacturing after a distinguished career. He moved to Montgomery County 58 years ago from Columbus, Ohio, where he immersed himself in his new community, becoming a cherished member of Gateway Christian Church.

In the spirit of camaraderie and service, Ray proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps as a member of the 3rd Air Commandoes. His brave contributions during his time in the Philippines, Japan, and Korea showcased not only his commitment to his country but also his resilience and spirit, qualities that he carried with him throughout his life.

Ray's passions extended far beyond his professional achievements. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting duck and squirrel, reveling in the great outdoors. Creativity flowed through him as a skilled carpenter and artist, with every project displaying his meticulous attention to detail and love for craftsmanship.

Above all, Ray will be remembered for his infectious humor and warm presence. "With a twinkle in his eye, his humored wit, Ray left a mark on all who ventured near. He always gave life his best!"

Survivors include his children, Cynthia Blake Ashford, Gary Blake (Kim), and Teri Blake Patrick; grandchildren, Carrie Stewart (Jason), Keelen Patrick, Wesley Blake (Natalie), Chrissy Ashford, Bryce Patrick, Miles Blake, and Cassie Mears (Christopher); great grandchildren, Christopher Ashford, Lyndsey Stewart, Taylor Stewart, Taryn Davis (Conner), Loren Stewart, Carter Ashford, Peyton Patrick, Keeley Patrick, Bosely Mears, Logan Patrick, and Desirea Mears.

In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Livingston Blake; grandson, Adam Patrick; siblings, Arlen Blake and Mary Clark.

Graveside service will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery at a later date.
