It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Letcher Stipe, who left this world peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on September 23, 1936, to the late Raymond D. and Mary Preston Stipe. Raymond lived a life etched with dedication as a farmer and United States Air Force Veteran, proudly serving his country in a time of need.
Raymond's commitment to the land and his hard-working spirit defined his years as a farmer, where he cultivated not just crops, but deep connections with nature. He was known for his love of fishing and relished in the simple joys of sitting in the sun, soaking in the beauty of the world around him. His heart warmed further by the companionship of his beloved pets, whom he cherished dearly.
A member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Nicholasville, Kentucky, Raymond's faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his values and actions. His family remembers him not only as a devoted father to his sons, but also as a nurturing figure to his grandchildren, Mike and Timmy, whom he raised as his own sons. The bond they shared was a testament to his love and commitment to family, which remained paramount throughout his life.
Raymond is survived by his sons, Carl Shuler (Daisy), Tony Stipe (Goldie) and Jeffrey Stipe Beach; grandchildren, Mark, Tina, Matthew, Mike, Timmy, Jason, Josh, Andy, Christy, Michelle, Jessica, Johnny, and Cody; great grandchildren, 15; great-great grandchildren, 2. His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends.
In addition to his late parents, Raymond is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bernice Hickman Stipe and siblings, Elsie Cobb, Neil Stipe, Edna Stipe, Ricky Stipe, Margie McCrary, and Jerry Stipe.
Visitation will be held at Betts & West Funeral Home on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Raymond's life and legacies. Cody Schuler will be officiating.
Though Raymond has departed, the memories and love he imparted on all who knew him will remain forever. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
