It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Gene Powell, affectionately known as Bob, who departed this life on April 2, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on March 18, 1957, in Mt. Sterling, Bob spent his life committed to serving his community and cherishing his family.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Bob carried his sense of duty and dedication into his career as a law enforcement officer, serving faithfully in both Kentucky and Colorado. He was a man of deep faith, rooted in the Pentecostal tradition, which guided him in every aspect of his life.
Bob was more than just a dedicated officer; he was a loving husband to Teresia Powell and a devoted father to Robert, Roger and Crystal. He embraced every moment spent with his family, instilling in them values of kindness and respect. Known for never meeting a stranger, Bob had a remarkable ability to connect with people and make them feel valued, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
In his leisure time, Bob found joy in the great outdoors. He loved coon hunting and fishing, often spending quality time with friends who shared his passion for nature and adventure. These moments were not just hobbies to him; they were opportunities to forge lasting friendships and create cherished memories.
Survivors include, beloved wife, Teresia Terrell Powell; children, Robert N. Powell (Tammie), Roger Powell (Megan), and Crystal Powell; grandchildren, Christopher Powell, Kennedy Powell, and Sierra Powell; mother, Hazel Curtis Powell.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Eugene Powell and siblings, Linda Powell, Roger D. Powell, and Ricky Powell.
