Robert "Bobby" Douglas Kelley

June 13, 1941 — February 19, 2022

Robert "Bobby" Douglas Kelley, 80, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Saturday evening, February 19, 2022, at St. Joseph East in Lexington, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Montgomery County on June 13, 1941, to the late Ed and Hazel Mason Kelley.

Bobby was a Montgomery County native, and a member of Keas Tabernacle C.M.E. Church.  After high school at Dubois, Bobby served his country in the US Army.  After leaving the US Army, Bobby settled down in his hometown of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, with his mate and wife, Nancy Mack Kelley.  Bobby was the solid rock of the family and after working 19 years with Bundy Tubing Inc. as a machine operator in Winchester, Kentucky, Bobby settled in to being a family man.  In his spare time, he enjoyed Reds baseball, working on cars, and was an avid supporter of his grandson's sports careers.  Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family and kept everyone smiling with his unique sense of humor.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Bobby is survived by one son, Tony Mack of Lexington; two daughters, Bridgette King (John) and Monique Hayden, both of Lexington; his grandsons, Devin King, Tyrell Hayden (Laura Lee Lewis), Domonique Hayden (Sidney); his great grandchildren, Asher and Ava; his brothers, Donald Kelley of Mt. Sterling, Roy Kelley (Patricia) of Indianapolis; one Uncle Fred Mason (Anna); sister-in-law, Georgia Cunningham; special nieces, Nawasca and Adreonna Franklin and Patricia Norris and a host of nieces and nephews dear to him.

In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Mack Kelley; two brothers, Gregory Kelley, Sr. and Milton Kelley; three sisters, Nancy Jones, Peggy Jones, and Katherine Nutter; one son-in-law, Lance Hayden.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Olive Hill Cemetery in Mt. Sterling.  Reverend Darrell Hayden and Reverend Sam Carr will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Tyrell Hayden, Domonique Hayden, Devin King, Justin Norris, Eddie Chenault, Dee May King, Gregory Kelley, Jr., and Oliver Taul.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Dubois Community Center, P.O. Box 1452, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.

Due to the current community COVID situation and for the protection of family and friends, all attendees are requested to please wear a mask.
