Robin Elizabeth Gibbs

September 27, 1958 — February 26, 2014

Robin Elizabeth Gibbs, 55, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014. She was born September 27, 1958, in Winchester to Wanda Williams Mercer and Bridges Gibbs.

Robin was a 1976 graduate of Tates Creek High School; she retired from the University of Kentucky where she was the Director of Dining Services until her retirement in 2007. She had a big heart and sweet spirit, always giving and helping whomever she could and serving as a mentor to those in need. Her special love of animals led her to rescuing many, as well as being a faithful supporter of the Humane Society and the Woodstock Clinic. She was known for her excellent culinary/catering skills and her passion for UK sports. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and for her everlasting love of her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include; her mother, Wanda Mercer of Mt. Sterling; three brothers, Michael Crain (Melinda) of Lexington, Chris Crain and Chad Mercer both of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Dana Crain Moore (David) of Lexington; four nephews, Benjamin Crain, Elijah Crain and Tanner Moore all of Lexington, and Apollo Mercer of Mt. Sterling; three nieces, Lauren Moore, Haiden Moore and Elizabeth Ann Crain all of Lexington; special friends, Becky Pile and Hannah Platt both of Lexington; her beloved dog, Sammie.

Robin was preceded in death by her step father, William Clark Crain and her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth "Peachie" Williams.
