Roy Dale "Fatty" Byrd

Roy Dale Byrd, born August 23, 1968, cast his final line and went to fish the peaceful lakes of heaven on June 30, 2025, at the age of 56.

Roy Dale was the cherished son of Phyllis Byrd and the late Roy Byrd. A devoted father, he leaves behind his loving children-Kellie, Katie, Canyon, and Carly-who were the light of his life. He was also a proud grandfather to Beau and Preslee, who brought him endless joy and smiles. 

Roy Dale is survived by his sisters, Rhonda Back and Tammy Maness, who shared his laughter, stories, and many cherished memories. Though they parted ways, Connie Joan remained a beloved presence in his life and heart, shaping many of his most treasured moments. Roy Dale lived life to the fullest and brought joy wherever he went. Known for his warm heart, easygoing nature, and ability to make friends instantly, he made a meaningful impact on everyone he met. As a car salesman at Byrd's Chrysler, he built strong relationships with his customers, always treating them like family. He was deeply loved by all who knew him.

His favorite days were spent outdoors-whether mushroom hunting, auctioneering, fishing, golfing, coon hunting, or simply soaking up nature. Roy Dale also loved gathering around the card table and rarely missed an opportunity to watch his kids compete in sports, cheering them on with immense pride. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren, creating countless memories they will hold dear forever. Roy Dale's vibrant spirit, laughter, and kindness will be profoundly missed. His legacy lives on in his family and in the many lives he touched along the way.

 All who wish to honor Roy Dale are welcome to visit with the family from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 5, 2025, followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony at 1:00 PM, at Bethel Baptist Gymnasium, 926 KY‑36, Frenchburg, KY 40322.

Though he may be gone from our sight, we know Roy Dale is casting his line in heaven's waters, smiling down and watching over all of us with love.
