It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a very special lady, Sandra Kaye Goodpaster Donaldson. Sandy gained her wings on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 80. Born and raised in Owingsville, KY, she later married and spent the majority of her life as a resident of Mt. Sterling. She was born on March 27, 1945, to the late George and Maude McCarty Goodpaster and graduated from Owingsville High School.

For 48 wonderful years, Sandra shared a loving marriage with her husband, Jackie Donaldson, finding joy in every moment spent together. Her commitment to her family extended beyond her marriage; she cherished her role as a mother to her daughter, Lori, and her sons, Dwight and Brandon. One of her greatest joys was her time spent with her grandchildren, where her love and caring spirit created lasting memories.

Sandra was a longtime member of the Rolling Hills Church of Christ, where she found a second family among her church community. The bonds she formed were a significant part of her life, and she engaged wholeheartedly in various church activities, finding comfort and belonging in her faith.

As a domestic housekeeper and small business owner, Sandra took pride in her work, serving countless clients with dedication and care. She also brought her nurturing spirit to the cafeteria at Montgomery County High School, where she ensured that many students felt welcomed and cared for.

A gifted cook and baker, some of Sandra's most treasured moments were spent around her kitchen table, surrounded by family and friends. It was here that laughter flowed and love was shared, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflected her generous heart.

Survivors include her loving children, Dwight Donaldson (Lynette), Lori Donaldson, Brandon Donaldson (Amy); grandchildren, Haley Donaldson, Claire Charles (Justin), Brody Donaldson, Ashleigh Donaldson, Kayela Hall (Dylan), Coleman Donaldson, Tyler Smith (Sara), and Molly Spalding; great grandchildren, Jack Donaldson, Penelope Donaldson, Palmer Charles, Everett Charles, Lucy Hall, Liam Hall, and Olivia Hall.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie, and her siblings, Gordon Goodpaster and Ala Frances McAlpin, as well as her nephew Keith McAlpin who was also her cherished friend.

She was loved and cared for the last several years at Windsor Care, where she found special friends who became family. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Sandy's "A-team" at Windsor.

A Celebration of Life honoring Sandra's life is being planned, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her legacy. Details regarding the service will be shared soon, and all who knew and loved her are invited to attend and share in the remembrance of a truly remarkable woman.

Sandra Kaye Donaldson will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
