Sarah Ellen (Shanks) Jones

Sarah Ellen Shanks Jones, 80, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, January 23, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 17, 1936 in Lexington to the late Ebb Sr. and Polly Hobbs Shanks.
Sarah moved to Mt. Sterling thirteen years ago from Sanford, Florida, she was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching Lifetime movies, cooking, cleaning and laughing. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include; four sons, Joshua Jones, Jr. of Mt. Sterling, Robert Jones of Indiana, Joseph Jones of Mt. Sterling and Freddie Jones (Jan) of Oregon; one daughter, Deborah Henderson of Texas; five brothers, Lewis Shanks, Fred Shanks, Gene Shanks, James Shanks (Mary), all of Mt. Sterling and Ebb Shanks, Jr. of Winchester; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joshua Jones, Sr.; two sons, James Jones and Jeffery Jones; two sister, Jesslee Shanks and Dora Mae Shanks.
