Sheila Rae (Brooks) Puckett

October 17, 1962 — October 7, 2019

Sheila Rae Brooks Puckett, 56, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, October 7, 2019 at Clark Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Yuba City, California on October 17, 1962 to the late Charles Brooks and Sally Puckett Markland.

Sheila was a life-long resident of Mt. Sterling, retired preschool teacher and a member of the First Church of God.  She had an incredible passion and work ethic working with the children in preschool, as well being a past leader with the Girl Scouts and the youth at church.  Sheila enjoyed the nature, watching birds and adopting many animals.  She also had a passion for music, flowers, traveling and above all spending time with her new grandchild, Theodore Ray Puckett.  Sheila will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Puckett of Mt. Sterling; one son, Brad Puckett (Ellie) of Louisville; one daughter, Stephanie Arthur (Logan) of Richmond; one grandchild, Theodore Ray Puckett of Louisville; one sister, Mariesa Watson (Michael) of Lexington; one step-brother, Jeff Caldwell (Casey Howard) of Mt. Sterling.

In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Hatton and step-father, Harold Markland.

Funeral will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 1:00PM.  Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM.  Both will be held at the Mt. Sterling, First Church of God.  Committal to follow funeral at Machpelah Cemetery.  Jerry Engle and Kevin Willis will be officiating.

Pallbearers: George Pawley, Nacy Stone, Michael Darnell, Glen Trusty, Dan Puckett, James Johnson and Rick West.

Honorary Pallbearers: Daffney Banta, Vicki Darnell, Liz Torchia, Beverly Kendall, Nikki Garner, Kristi Garner, Kathi Garner, Debbie Johnson, Iris Johnson, Bethany Johnson.
