Shirlene Ratliff

January 30, 1943 — June 2, 2017

Shirlene Ratliff, 74, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday evening, June 2, 2017 at her residence.  She was born January 30, 1943 in Pike County to the late Shirley and Iness Lowe Ratliff.

Shirlene moved to Montgomery County in 1978 from Florida and retired after forty-two years of nursing.  She was very out spoken and had a funny personality.  Shirlene enjoyed; flower gardening, knitting, cross stitching, traveling and playing with her dogs.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include; her special friend, Loree Detweiler of Mt. Sterling; one brother, Bob Ratliff (Zettie) of Pikeville; three sisters, Ruby Justice of Jeffersonville, Betty Blackburn of Camargo and Della Runyon (Don) of Pikeville; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and some not so great, per Shirlene (Ha-Ha).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Lowell Ratliff, Dale Ratliff, Donald Ratliff, Adron Ratliff, Darrel Ratliff and Hassel Ratliff; two sisters, Ruth Syck and Annetta Wilder.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations towards: Sterling Community Food Coalition, Attn: Vickie Richardson-Treasurer, 114 East High Street, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, 40353.

Funeral will be Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 12:00PM. Visitation will be prior from 10:00AM to 12:00PM, both services at Queen Street Christian Fellowship.  Pastor George Dunn will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Wayne Goodwin, David, Mullet, Kevin Wilder, Justin Shoemaker, Timmy Syck, Beth Shoemaker and David Syck.
