Shirley Jean Lyons

Shirley Jean Hunt Lyons, 76, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born March 5, 1938 in Sharpsburg to the late George William Hunt and Willie Dee Gilvin McVey.

Shirley had been a resident of Montgomery County since early childhood; she was a dedicated employee of Sylvania for 33 years until her retirement. She had a passion for animals, reading, and watching murder mysteries; but one of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren in sporting events. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include; two daughters, Tammy Lyons Selleck (John) and Debbie Lyons Moore (John) both of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Joyce Mae Kirk (Jim) of Mt. Sterling; four grandchildren, Bryce Jeremy "BJ" Ratliff (Samantha) of Clay City, Richard Jordan Perri (Shauna), Erika Beth Ratliff, and William Brooks Ashby Perri (Amy) all of Mt. Sterling; five great grandchildren, Waylon Pride Ratliff of Sharpsburg, Alyssa Faith Ratliff, Kaylee Jean Townsend, Richard Ian Perri, and Aria Briel Perri all of Mt. Sterling; two special nieces, Lynn Kirk and Cami Cole (Rob) both of Mt. Sterling.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mayme Louise Hunt and Betty Ann Hunt; and a granddaughter, Ashley Brooke Perri.
