Snowden Cordell Issac

April 28, 1943 — November 12, 2019

Snowden "Cordell" Issac, 76, of Mt. Sterling, died Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling.  He was born in Menifee County on April 28, 1943 to the late Everette and Lula Margaret Hayes Issac.

Cordell moved to Montgomery County in 1966 from Menifee county.  He attended Hazel Green Academy, retired from Bluegrass Army Depot and a United States Army veteran.  Cordell enjoyed; fishing, playing cards, UK basketball and most of all, spending time with his family.  He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Jo Ann Tipton Issac of Mt. Sterling; two sons, Jim Sons (Maggie) of Georgetown and Mike Issac (Sally) of Lexington; one daughter, Kim Jones (Tim) of Stuart, Florida; six grandchildren, Laura Issac of Vero Beach, Florida, Hollye Issac of Lexington, Meg Murray of Stuart, Florida, Brant Murray of Stuart, Florida, Cory Jones of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Tiffany Cheli of Jensen Beach, Florida; one brother, Bobby Issac (Marge) of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Ann Issac of Wellington, Kentucky; two sister-in-laws, Clara Issac of Louisville and Sheila Amyx of Campton.

In addition to his parents, Cordell is preceded in death by his three brothers, Farrell Issac, Woody Issac and David Issac.

Funeral will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 10:00AM with military rites.  Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00PM-7:30PM, both will be at Rolling Hills Church of Christ.  Committal will follow the funeral at Machpelah Cemetery.  Bobby Tipton, Brother Dan Murphy and Jerry Carmichael will be officiating.

In-lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Big Woods Recreational Corporation, P.O. Box 122, Wellington, Kentucky 40387 or Rolling Hills Bible Camp, 125 Rolling Hills Drive, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.

Pallbearers: Cody Bair, Jared Chandler, Alan Michael Peck, Ben Tipton, Chase Tipton, Jake Vollmer and Brant Murray.

Honorary Pallbearer: Charles Wills, Doug Morris, Kevin Tipton, Jamie Compton, Denny Hawkins, Paul Collins, Jason Issac, Phillip Tipton, Jeff Tipton, Wade Moore, Barry Blevins, Brent Blevins, Dutch Vollmer, Doug Weaver, Donnie Willoughby and Bruce Witt.
