Steven Ray Thompson, a beloved member of the Mt. Sterling, Kentucky community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on March 23, 1960, in Mt. Sterling, to the late Jack and Maggie Thompson. Steven was a lifelong resident of the area and cherished its rich heritage.

A man of Christian faith, Steven spent many years working as a mechanic at the Ale-8-One Bottling Company, where he was not only known for his technical skills but also for his unwavering dedication to his work and colleagues. His passion extended beyond the workshop; he was an avid enthusiast of modifying and working on his truck, finding joy in every detail and design.

Those who knew him appreciated his generosity, often finding him sharing his handmade gifts with friends and family. Additionally, he found solace and peace in fishing, often spending quiet afternoons by the water, reflecting on life and enjoying the beauty of nature.

Steven is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Treadway and Jackie Chastain, who will hold him close in her heart and memories, along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends and community members who were touched by his kindness and spirit. His legacy will live on in the lives he influenced and the love he shared.
