Teddy Wayne Collins, 70, of Mt. Sterling died Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital located on Cooper Drive in Lexington. He was born in Mt. Sterling on January 28, 1950 to the late Hager and Mary Collins, Sr.
Teddy was a lifelong resident of Mt. Sterling, United States Army Veteran and devoted to his family. Whether farming or driving a tractor and trailer he ensured his family was taken care of. Teddy also liked helping others often mowing their yard, plowing snow and "saddle breaking" horses for them.
He enjoyed horseback riding, playing cards such as "rummy" and watching a good western on television. Teddy worked hard, however his priorities revolved around his family and spending time with them especially his grandchildren and great granddaughter. His friends and family will miss him dearly.
Teddy is survived by his former wife and best friend, Donna Walker Collins of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Cathi Ware (Randy) of Alabama and Amanda Brooke Collins of Mt. Sterling; one son, Craig Collins (Lori) of Mt. Sterling and two sisters. "Pop-Pop" is also survived by four grandchildren, Matt Ware (Shelby) of Alabama, Jake Ware (Lauren) of Florida, Zach Collins of Mt. Sterling; Shae Harris and her biological brother Kiyan Harris, both of Mt. Sterling; one great granddaughter, Ava Ware of Florida and the family dog, "Roxie Bear".
In addition to his parents, Teddy was preceded in death by two brothers.
