Thelma Juanita Hawkins

Thelma Juanita Vice Hawkins, 87, of Jeffersonville, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Hospice Care Center in Lexington. She was born May 15, 1927 in Bath County to the late Clifton and Minnie Sargent Vice.

Thelma lived in Dayton, Ohio for several years before moving to Montgomery County in 1972. She worked in housekeeping at Mary Chiles Hospital until her retirement. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and gardening. Thelma dearly loved her family and found great joy in taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include; five daughters, Charlene McCurdy of Jeffersonville, Alleda Joan Maxwell (Jimmy) and Kathy Ann Kincaid both of Dayton, Pamela Jo Kincaid of Mt. Sterling and Jennifer Shepherd (Millard) of Jeffersonville; four brothers, Owen Brooks Vice, Sr. (Wilma) of Owingsville, Cliff Vice of Carlisle, Charles G. Vice (Charlene) of Mt. Sterling, and James D. Vice of Lancaster; two sisters, Mary E. Wolfe of Cincinnati, Ohio and Wilma Helen Shigley (Robert) of Wilmington, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, James McCurdy (Sandy), Michael Damron, Lori Hawks, Eric Ayles (Shannon), Candace Alexander (Jason), Christina Trimble, Shannon Frodge, Jamie Elliott, Brian Scott Alexander (Crystal), Ryan Alexander, Christopher Shepherd, and Tasha Williams; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two stepchildren, Debbie Trisdale and Danny Trisdale; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Gail Moore and Brenda Jean Williams; three brothers, Harold R. Vice, Virgil F. Vice and Bobby Ray Vice.
