Tommy Butcher, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 65. He was a simple man who found joy in the beauty of the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life.
Born on March 1, 1959, Tommy was raised with a love for nature that would stay with him throughout his life. He took great pride in tending to his vegetable garden, finding solace and contentment in the embrace of Mother Earth.
He was a retired small engine repair person, having spent years mastering his craft. He approached his work with diligence and expertise, earning the trust and admiration of his community.
Tommy loved sitting on the front porch with his beloved wife, enjoying the quiet moments and the beauty of nature together. He also cherished spending time talking with his neighbors in the Peeled Oak community.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Butcher; two children, Sherry Denton and Thomas Butcher, Jr.; grandchildren, Karley Denton, Kaylee Butcher, Will Shanks, and Tommy Butcher III; great granddaughter, Elara Jane Frei; brothers, Johnny Butcher, Larry Butcher (Sherry), and Gary Butcher (Samantha). Tommy had 2 beloved dogs, Fargo and Pearl, who brought him joy and companionship.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ellen Hobbs Butcher, and father, Johnny A. Butcher, as well as his sister Opal Spence, brothers Mike Butcher, Clifford Butcher and brother in law Bobby Spence.
Tommy's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
