Tyannia Mae Byrd Highley, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on May 25, 1961, in Ashland to the late John and Carolyn Nipper Byrd. Tyannia dedicated her life to care and compassion as a respiratory therapist, providing exceptional service at St. Claire Regional Medical Center for 26 years before her retirement.
Of the Christian faith, Tyannia exemplified faith through her nurturing spirit and the warmth she brought to all those around her. She was known as a spitfire-a vibrant personality that lit up every room and kept her family and friends entertained. As a loving wife to Marcus Highley, she was not just a partner but the glue of their family, always managing to keep her husband in line with grace and humor.
Tyannia found immense joy in her role as "Gran," a title earnestly bestowed upon her by her cherished grandchildren. She adored every moment spent around the dinner table, sharing family meals and laughter, creating bonds that will last a lifetime. Her culinary skills were well-known and appreciated, an embodiment of her love for family and tradition.
An avid traveler, Tyannia treasured her vacations at the beach and mountain trips to Gatlinburg, where she created lasting memories with her family. She enriched the lives of those around her, including her beloved fur babies, Daisy and Buddy, who were a constant source of joy in her life.
Survivors include, her beloved husband, Marcus Highley; children, Keila Bender (Donald), Hunter Rogers,and Dylan Highley (Hannah); grandchildren, Kaitlynn Staton (Camren), Jakob Bender, Liam Rogers, Carolyn Rogers, Saylor Highley and Brooks Highley; siblings, Jerry Byrd (Jonda) and Paul Byrd (Laura); mother-in-law, Mary Highley; sister-in-law, Shelley Copher (John); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her late parents, Tyannia is preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny Byrd and Donald Byrd.
A memorial service to honor Tyannia's life will take place on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 12:00PM at Living Water Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
Tyannia's journey will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who loved her.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will forever remain in the lives she touched.
