Verl E. Ingram

March 25, 1944 — February 17, 2022

Verl Ingram passed away on February 17th, 2022 in Lexington following a short illness. Verl was born in Owingsville to Samuel and Opal (Blevins) Ingram. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the Army Reserves and later graduated from Morehead State University.

He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Phyllis G. Ingram, and two children, Phillip Ingram of Mount Sterling and Jennifer (Ingram) Page of Lexington. He also leaves his three grandchildren, Luke Ingram of Mount Sterling and Abigale and William Page III of Lexington, as well as a sister, Deborah Ingram Prekopa of Winchester, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Wanda Ingram.

Verl was a member of the Preston First Church of God for many years, where he was a Sunday School teacher and exuberant song leader. He had a long career in business, and his time as plant manager at Donotech afforded him the ability to grab lunch at Sam and Opal’s house on Kendall Springs Road often. After retirement, he truly enjoyed working as a real estate agent at Caswell Prewitt.

Verl’s outgoing personality meant that he never met a stranger. His infectious laugh bounced off the walls and would often catch you by surprise in theaters and restaurants. He was a blessing; he was the embodiment of love and service and family in every way. Verl will be missed by so many.

Visitation Gathering will be Monday, February 21, 2022 from 11:30AM to 1:30PM at Queen Street Christian Fellowship.  A private family graveside service will follow at Machpelah Cemetery.
