Walker Ershel Hasty, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on May 26, 1932, in the Scranton area of Menifee County, to the late Roy and Dora Wells Hasty.
Walker was a member of the Camargo Church of God. He was a retired forklift operator, having served with the Teamsters Union.
Walker enjoyed telling stories of his years growing up with his siblings, raising a vegetable garden and any animal he could capture and name but most of all he loved horses and owned many throughout his life. A true family man, he cherished his time spent with his children, especially his grandchildren, who adored their "Papaw."
Walker is survived by his wife, Janet Trimble Spencer; children, Charlotte Agee (Richard Huggins), Bill Hasty, Lisa Zimmerman(the late Steve), Sherrie Duff (Daniel), Denetta Reidel (Jeff), Jeff Hasty (Shonna), and Scotty Hasty; grandchildren, Krista Agee, Lucinda O'Boyle, Nicole Moore (James), Amy Hamblin (Doug), Kirk Van Guelpen (Stephanie), Michael Murray (Abigail), Robert Murray, Justin Hasty, Shane Hasty (Marissa), Kevin Hasty (Kristen),Corrina Centers (Brent) and Danny Hasty (Sierra), 30 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Althea Black and Barbara Mathis (Gary) and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Walker is preceded in death by his first wife, Retha Wyatt Hasty with whom he raised their eight children in Ohio and later retired to Jeffersonville; daughter Linda Abney; sisters Bertie Brown, Opal Clemons, Jean Lyons and twin brother James Hershel Hasty.
A funeral service will be held in his honor at Camargo Church of God on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11:30AM, following a visitation at the church beginning at 10:30AM to 11:30AM. Walker will be laid to rest following the funeral at Machpelah Cemetery. Pastors Gary Mathis and Jamey Johnson will be officiating.
