William Brian Tuttle, affectionately known as B.T., passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Mt. Sterling, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. Born on April 23, 1967, he played football and graduated from Montgomery County High School, member of the First Baptist Church, and a lifelong resident of Montgomery County. B.T. was known for his vibrant personality, infectious smile, and the ability to connect with everyone he met; he truly never met a stranger.
B.T. dedicated his life to his family and his business in the ice making and delivery industry. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from tending to his cherished garden to exploring the breathtaking trails of Red River Gorge and the serenity of kayaking. As a devoted grandfather, he took immense pride in his role as "PAP," creating lasting memories with his grandchildren filled with laughter and love.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Benton Tuttle; children, Ben Tuttle (Vanessa), Matt Tuttle (Angelica), Chay Nipper (Casey Browning), and Macy Hatton (Mason); grandchildren, Tripp Tuttle, Trace Tuttle, Dutton William, Jackson Howard, Jettson Howard, and Jace Howard; parents, Cecil and Mary Alice Ishmael Tuttle; siblings, Cecilia Floyd (Tommy) and Steven Tuttle; nieces and nephews, Morgan Floyd, Jon Floyd, Rezin Tuttle, and Adrienne Tuttle; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; special nurse and first cousin that took great care of him in his later weeks and days, Claire Ishmael Pruner; two special childhood friends, Jim Gay and Shannon Lansdale, that visited B.T. while he was sick.
Honorary Pallbearers: Shannon Lansdale, Jim Gay, Andy Blair, Kevin Crosslin, Tim Lyons, Ryan Steger, Mark Steger, Chris Steger, Billy Stull, Walton Williams, Rick Williams, Dave Ishmael, and his Football Class of 1984.
The community is invited to celebrate the life and legacy of William Brian Tuttle at a memorial service that will be held at the First Baptist Church on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM. A visitation will take place the evening prior, on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the same location. Pastor Chris Wells will be officiating.
In honoring B.T.'s spirit, we remember a man who embraced life with open arms, shared joy with all around him, and left a profound impact on the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. He will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered for the light he brought into the world.
