Obituary

Allen B Craft, 50, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital, Fort Thomas, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Woodbridge, Virginia  on March 7, 1973 to the late David and Linda Hall Craft, Sr.

Allen was a resident of Kentucky from the age of 15, was of the Christian faith and a graduate of Menifee County High School, class of 1991.  He had a passion for working with emotionally troubled youth and was a highly trained youth worker at Dessie Scott Children’s Home, as well as a former employee at Fayette County Detention Center and Sunrise Children's Home.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, and going for cruises around the lake.  He also enjoyed old cars, making people laugh and bowling.  He was very sociable and well thought of by many people.  Allen never met a stranger and loved everyone.  He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and everyone who had the privilege to know him.

Allen is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Messiah Craft; son, Allen B Craft, Jr. (Autum) of Mt. Sterling; daughter, Kaytlin Brewer (Cameron) of Mt. Sterling; brother, David Craft, Jr. of Frenchburg; sister, Lisa Craft Helton (James) of Frenchburg; sister-in-law, Lissie Allen (Greg) of Jeffersonville; brother-in-law Shannon Brewer of Stanton; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and special friends.

In addition to his parents Allen was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Louie Brewer; mother-in-law, Donna Brewer; grandparents, Virgil and Lillian Craft; brother-in laws, Gregory Allen and Anthony Mark Brewer as well as many other loved ones.

Celebration of life service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Craft Cemetery.  Pot luck dinner will follow at Bethel Baptist Church in Frenchburg, Kentucky. 

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to  Saint Joseph Hospital nurses and staff, Lexington, Kentucky,  Davita Kidney Care and Select Specialty Hospital in Fort Thomas, Kentucky for their loving care of our dear Allen.
