Cora "Sue" (Elliott) Baker

Cora Sue Baker of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky received her angel wings on October 18, 2023.  She was born in Mansfield, Ohio but raised in Jeffersonville, Kentucky.  Sue was the seventh child in a family of twelve children born to Clyde and Lena Elliott.  She married Morris Baker, Jr. on January 13, 1979.  They shared forty-four years of marriage.  She was a devoted Christian and a member of Gateway Church of God.   Sue was an amazing person filled with love and empathy and touched the heart of everyone that knew her.  She was a beautiful person inside and out.  She will be deeply missed by her family and everyone that knew her. We feel comfort and strength knowing that she is in the arms of Jesus.  Our angel has returned home where there is no pain and suffering. 

Surviving are her husband and their children; James Edward, Douglas Willoughby and Cynthia Irene, Michael Moore, Rick and Kathy Baker, Gary and Kathy Baker, Darren and Emily Baker; grandson, Cherokee Willoughby and his wife Ashton; great granddaughter, Ashlyn Willoughby; sister, Bonnie Watkins; special niece, Kimberly Cleeton. 

Sue was preceded in death by her parents as well as seven brothers, Herman, Ivan, Robert, Danny, Jerry, Gary and David Elliott; three sisters, Eva J. Williams, Dixie Ousley and Alma McGuire.  

Funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, October 21, 2023.  Visitation will be held prior from 10:00AM - 12:00PM.  Both will be held at Gateway Church of God. James Hendrix will be officiating.  She will be laid to rest at the Lovely Amburgey Cemetery if Jeffersonville, Kentucky. 

Pallbearers: Cynthia Moore, Jimmy Willoughby, Douglas Willoughby, Gary Baker, Cherokee Willoughby and Mike Moore.
