Herman Lewis Howard, 57, of Means Kentucky passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 24, 1966, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, to the late, Ernest Howard and Mary Otten Nealis.
Herman, known for his strong work ethic and love for the great outdoors, found solace in the tranquility of the woods while hunting. His connection with nature was profound, as he derived immense joy from exploring the vastness and beauty of his surroundings. He valued the simplicity of life and was often seen with a smile on his face, embracing the wonders of the world around him. Alongside his passion for the wilderness, Herman had a deep affection for his five faithful canine companions, who brought immense joy and companionship to his life. He cherished their unconditional love, and their wagging tails were a constant source of happiness for him. In his leisure time, Herman would immerse himself in his favorite band, Pink Floyd. The harmonious blend of their music resonated with his soul.
Above all, Herman valued the love and bonds shared within his family. He was a dedicated and caring step-father to Jay Hardin, Jr., and brother to his surviving sisters, Mary Fitch (Glen) and Connie Wheat (Chris); nephew, Matthew Carpenter and great nephew, Mason Carpenter. Their bond grew stronger over the years, a testament to the unbreakable kinship they shared. Herman's genuine love for his family knew no bounds, and he always prioritized their happiness and well-being.
In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Howard and sister, Jackie Cole.
As per Herman's wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Machpelah Cemetery Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
