Obituary

Jennie Lee Bailey Rawlings, 100, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on Saturday morning, March 19, 2022, at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling.  She was born on September 30, 1921 in Bath County, Kentucky to the late James and Ann Lizzie Snelling Bailey.

Jennie moved to Mt. Sterling in 1997 from Bethel and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed speaking her love language in cooking and spending time with her family.  She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.  

Jennie is survived by two daughters, Delores Sapp (Tony) of Mt. Sterling and Delphia Hampton (Don) of Somerset; four grandchildren, Jennifer Madden (Patrick) of Lexington, Leigh Clay Estes (Joe) of Paris, Jim Reid (Glenda) of Glasgow and Ashley Gomez (Aldo) of Lexington; nine great grandchildren, Caroline Madden, Michael Madden, Parker Estes, Clay Estes, Marleigh Estes, Mason Reid, Griffin Reid, Axel Gomez and Aiden Gomez.

In addition to her parents, Jennie was preceded in death by her husband; James Rawlings; one daughter, Lana Pennington; one brother, Charles Bailey and two sisters, Louise Stephens and Bonnie Corbin.
