Julian "J.D." D. Williams, Jr.

Julian "J.D." D. Williams, Jr., 92, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday morning, February 28, 2023, at Clark Regional Medical Center Winchester, Kentucky.  He was born on November 9, 1930 in Bethel, Kentucky to the late Julian, Sr.and Mary Ledford Williams.

J.D. had been a resident of Montgomery County since 1957, was a member of First Christian Church, Mt. Sterling and a veteran of the United States Air Force.  J.D. was a civil engineer and continued working in his profession until the age of ninety.  He was a former board member of Mary Chiles Hospital as well as Traditional Bank, Mt. Sterling.  J.D. enjoyed aviation and watching air shows, UK basketball and auto racing.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

J.D. is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Tamara Tipton Williams of Mt. Sterling; son, Jeff Williams (Shelly) of Mt. Sterling; daughter, Leslie Williams of Marietta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Julianne Williams of Germany, Dawson Williams of Mt. Sterling, Isabelle Koerner of Marietta, Georgia, and Olivia Koerner of Marietta, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, J.D. was preceded in death by his sister, Lucy Carr Emmons.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at First Christian Church, 222 West Main Street  Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.  Committal with military honors will follow the funeral service at Machpelah Cemetery.  Pastor Scott Holley will be officiating.

Pallbearers: John Reynolds, Miller Hoffman, Al Botts, Alan Garner, David Roberts, N.H. Stone, Bill Salisbury and Ray Robertson.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jerry Lansdale, Reid Evans, Mike Haddix and Carl Oborski.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in J.D.'s memory to First Christian Church 222 West Main Street Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.
