Obituary

Lauren Diane Buddington Pennington, 81, of Owingsville passed away on Sunday morning, June 18, 2023 at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehab, Owingsville, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Washington, D.C. on June 28, 1941 to the late Ruby Lamb Dutrow

Lauren was a resident of Bath County, following her move from Florida in 2022. She was of the Christian faith and was a wonderful homemaker for her family. She loved children and gave swimming lessons and worked at summer camps and girl scouts. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and soaking up the sun at the beach. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Lauren is survived by her husband, John Pennington of Mt. Sterling; daughter, Diane Smith (Christopher) of Owingsville; three grandchildren, Candice Smith of Washington, Jennifer Smith of Wisconsin and Nicholas Pennington of Minnesota; two great grandchildren, Owen Imel and Cheyanna Fortmann; two brothers, John Dutrow (Sandy) of Maryland and Joseph Dutrow (Gloria) of Maryland; three sisters, Jean Martin (Ken) of Florida, Marian Spruill of Maryland and Mary Pennington of Maryland.

In addition to her mother, Lauren was preceded in death by her son, David Pennington.
