Obituary

Lonnie Lee Land, 80, of Jeffersonville, Kentucky passed away Saturday morning, January 21, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Richmond, Kentucky on February15, 1942, to the late Edison Land and Ella Mae Bowlin Ralls.

Lonnie had been a resident of Montgomery County for ten years following his move from Lexington.  He retired as an operator with IBM/Lexmark, was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Free Baptist Church.  He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and enjoyed fishing, wood working and leather work.  He was involved in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed coaching his daughters and son and other kids with tee-ball, soft ball and baseball.  He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Barbara Willis Land; son, Lonnie Lee Land II (Salin); daughters, Melinda Wolfe (Rick) and Mariann Hodge (John); three grandchildren, Cody Wayne Nichols, Lonnie Lee Land III and Kaden Shane Land; one great granddaughter, Melissa Renee Nichols; one sister Judith Carol Land. 

In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Land. 

Military service for Lonnie Lee Land will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery on Friday, January 27, 2023.
