Ronald "Ronnie" Melvin Spencer, 75, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away on Sunday morning, November 21, 2021 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born in Frenchburg, Kentucky on April 25, 1946 to the late Mitchell and Mildred Adkins Spencer.
Ronnie has been a resident of Montgomery County for the last fifty-five years, following his move from Frenchburg. He was a born again follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the Assemblies of God, currently attending Christian Assembly of God, Mt. Sterling. He began working at the age of fourteen in the log woods. This was followed by mechanic work at Carter Ingram Ford and then subsequently he found his love working as a heavy equipment mechanic. He retired from the Walker Company and loved and took great pride with each and every place he worked. He also enjoyed; four wheeling, fishing, camping and enjoying the outdoors with his boys and granddaughter. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife; Monica Arnett Spencer; three sons; Josh Spencer (B.J.) of Mt. Sterling, David Risner (Krissy Adkins) of Georgetown and Daniel Risner of Louisville; one granddaughter Rylie Spencer of Mt. Sterling; one sister; Patty Spencer Bullington of Jeffersonville; numerous nieces and nephews; his special companion and friend; his dog Rex.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM - 7:00PM on Friday, November 26, 2021. Both will be held at the Christian Assembly of God, Mt. Sterling. Committal will follow the funeral service at Lovelace Cemetery, Frenchburg. Pastor Scott Barnes will be officiating.
