Obituary

Timothy "Tim" John McCarthy, 68, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday, June 15, 2020 at Baptist Health.  He was born on August 15, 1951 in Owosso, Michigan to the late Patrick Bernard and Dorothy Jane Austin McCarthy.

Tim was formally of Farmington Hill and Milford, Michigan and Titusville, Florida.  He attended Eastern Michigan University, worked for his family business McCarthy Contracting and remolded and sold homes locally.  He was an active conservative and served as secretary for the Republican party of Montgomery County Kentucky.    

Tim had a lifelong passion with robotics and Detroit Tigers Baseball, especially Norm Cash.  He was an avid reader, volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America, Love of Paws and loved meeting and making new friends.  Tim will be missed dearly by his friends and family.

He is survived by his loving wife of six years, Dede Sain McCarthy of Mt. Sterling; first wife Robin Graham Morr and their son, Patrick G. McCarthy of Michigan; three stepsons,  Dennis Sain (Amanda) and Billy Sain (Cathy) both of Mt. Sterling and Donny Sain (Nancye) of Owingsville; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren;  one brother, Michael McCarthy (Beth); two sisters, Catherine Stevenson (Tom) and Mary Jo Taylor (Tom) all of Michigan and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 12:00PM.  Visitation will take place prior from 10:00AM-12:00PM.  Both will be held at Queen Street Christian Fellowship with Pastor David Hale officiating. 

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Love of Paws at 1122 Bunker Hill Road, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353 or Republican party of Montgomery County Kentucky, attn: Darrell Mandrell, PO Box 947, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
